These terms describe the scope of BuildMath Lab's calculators, field guides, and embeddable widgets and your responsibility when using them.
Planning and educational use
BuildMath Lab provides preliminary material estimates and general educational information for projects in the United States. It does not provide engineering, architectural, trade, safety, legal, code, or inspection services. A result is not a construction document, code approval, professional recommendation, or supplier quote.
Verify before purchasing or building
You are responsible for checking dimensions, units, allowances, product coverage, package sizes, site conditions, and the intended application. Before purchasing material or starting work, verify the result against current manufacturer instructions, supplier information, project documents, local requirements, field measurements, and the judgment of the appropriate qualified professional.
Accuracy and availability
We aim to show the formula and assumptions behind each estimate, but we do not promise that a result fits every product, jurisdiction, design, or field condition. We may correct errors and change formulas, content, tools, or availability as sources, products, and the site evolve.
Advertising, disclosures, and external sites
BuildMath Lab may display advertising. If affiliate links are introduced, they will be clearly disclosed and will not change calculator formulas. Manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, and other external sites control their own products, pricing, availability, warranties, terms, and privacy practices. Review the affiliate disclosure for the current policy.
Widget permission
You may embed the widgets published on the widgets page without charge while keeping the tool and visible BuildMath Lab attribution intact. You may not present a widget result as engineering, code approval, a supplier quote, or your own professional calculation. This limited permission does not authorize bulk republication, removal of attribution, or misrepresentation of the source.
Responsibility and applicable rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, BuildMath Lab is not responsible for purchases, shortages, waste, delays, damage, or project decisions made solely from a site estimate. These terms do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.
Privacy and changes
Technical, analytics, and advertising practices are described in the privacy policy. We may update these terms when the tools, providers, or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
